For the sake of not repeating myself here, please see the instructions for building the sofa table to see how the wood table top is made. The big difference between this top and the sofa table top is I did not cut off the edges of the boards so there are grooves between the boards. (I also did not take pictures when I started this project). It is personal preference on how you want your table to look.
We have a sectional in the basement so I wanted to make a square 30" x 30" table. You will need to figure out which boards to use (what width) in order to get the width of table you need. I used 2"x 8" boards, which are actually about 7-1/4" wide, which gave me a 29" width. I still decided to make the other side 30".
Part 2: Pipe Legs
I was not exactly sure which length of pipes I needed so, I bought several lengths of pipe and pipe nipples and put them together to determine what I needed. All the pieces I bought were in stock at one of my local big box hardware stores.
Since the dimensions from leg to leg are not the same on each side, the leg structure may not be exactly centered on the table top. The dimensions between the legs will also change slightly based on how tight you screw the pieces together. It will still look great.
Secure the leg structure to the table top and you are good to go.
Still looks like new after months of abuse.
